Joo Sang Wook cast as lead for the upcoming drama “Taejong Yi Bang Won”
Several reports on August 9th that Joo Sang Wook will return to dramas with the new KBS historical drama tentatively titled “Taejong Yi Bang Won.” It will reportedly have a total of 36 episodes, scheduled to air during the end of the year.
Joo Sang Wook’s agency HB Entertainment shared their response to the reports and stated that their artist is positively considering to star in the upcoming historical drama.
“Taejong Yi Bang Won” will be added to KBS’ collection of historical dramas. Back in 1996, they also aired s “Taejo Wang Geon” and “Daejoyeong” which became the national drama with a viewer rating of 60.4 percent.
Joo Sang Wook was given the offer to portray the role of Lee Bang Won. He has three-dimensional consideration of Joseon.
“Taejong Yi Bang Won” will exclusively air on KBS, other production details are yet to be announced.
Joo Sang Wook is set to star in the upcoming 2021 drama “Return” together with Lee Jae Wook, Oh Na Ra, NUEST Hwang Min Hyun, and more. He was last seen in the 2020 drama “Touch”.
If Joo Sang Wook decided to appear in the upcoming drama “Taejong Yi Bang Won,” this will be his comeback to the historical genre since 2018. He was part of the historical drama “Grand Prince” together with Jin Se Yeon, Yoon Shi Yoon, and more.
Joo Sang Wook has played different roles in his entire acting career and the historical genre is not new for him. He was part of other historical-themed projects such as “Queen Seon Duk,” “The Huntresses,” and more.
